I'm fascinated by Sh. al-Qaradawi's analysis, as summarized by Dr. Jackson. It shows a sense of courage to go against the 'safe' classical positions (though that's not to say that this is something that should be sought in and of itself). I just respect a critical approach that's supported by deep understanding of the Qur'an, Sunnah, and the history of the Islamic sciences.
