Halal Tube needs your help to transcribe lectures!

Bismillah

Alhamdulillah!  InshaAllah you are feeling awesome as you read this.  HalalTube received a great idea from one of our users who suggested Halal Tube transcribe lectures.  So we are acting upon this idea right away upon reading this suggestion.

We have added a form here.  Use that form to submit lecture transcripts.

Upon verification of text and name we will add it to the lecture’s page with credits given to the transciber.  We will add whatever public name you give us.  It can be your real name, a nick name or an anonymous name.

JazakAllah khiar!

May Allah bless you for reading this and using Halal Tube!

Ma’salaama,
Halal Tube Team

    As-salaamu alaykum,
I love this idea. Is there was any way you could tell us if a transcript has already been submitted (but not yet reviewed) for a lecture, so that we make sure not to repeat what others have already transcribed? If not, no harm done; there are plenty of lectures so maybe it would be a very small chance of repetition anyway. Thanks!

as-salamu ‘alaykum! I also have an idea for muslim who are not english speaking but know the language quite well… putting subtitles to video is a very hard work, especially when you have to fix timelines for every sentence. But once you did it, there’s no need to do it again in another language, if we keep in contact we can use the same original file, mantain the timelines and translate only the sentences so that we can easily get videos subbed in many languages.

If some of you is intersted I subbed some english video lectures in italian and if you contact me on my youtube channel (itabilal) I can send you .txt or .srt files inshallah to translate in any other language.

Imagine to build a translation network… wow… that’s exactly what Qur’an and Sunnah teach, be unite in the name of Allah.

    Assalamualaikum

    Good Idea Brothers and sisters.
    I have a suggestion here.
Brother Nouman has once mentioned a scholar named Dr. Fadhil al-Samarrai in one of his lectures titled ‘Words of advice for Arabic student’.
Eventually I found that there is a large no. of video lectures of that scholar in Youtube as well as in a site: http://www.islamiyyat.com/
The lectures are mainly regarding Linguistic analysis of Qur’an.
But the problem is that the lectures are in Arabic.
If that lectures are provided with English Subtitles then it will be of great use for the Muslims all round the world.

I humbly request you to do necessary steps

    Jazzakallah Khair

    Salaams:

Transcripting is a laborious work.A program like Dragon Naturally Speaking or (or any similar free programs) may be very helpful. Of course in speeches, Arabic words will be used, and for this one will have to do that manually.

Just use Dragon Software and transcribe automatically HalalTube. You folks are generating enough ad revenue to afford it.

  10. mumina says:

There is no post on the progress of transcriptions of the lectures yet, neither is there any indication that anyone is working on a particular lecture. please update.
