“Whatever ˹pleasure˺ you have been given is ˹no more than a fleeting˺ enjoyment of this worldly life. But what is with Allah is far better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord;” (Surah Ash-Shuraa 42:36)

“Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition in wealth and children. This is like rain that causes plants to grow, to the delight of the planters. But later the plants dry up and you see them wither, then they are reduced to chaff. And in the Hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness and pleasure of Allah, whereas the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.” – Surah Hadid, Ayah 20

Alhamdulillah, today in America, we are not subject to the extreme circumstances faced by these youth. Yes, we may have to make some sacrifices of time & wealth, but we are in no way subject to the harsh circumstances faced by this youth. The example of this youth is a fresh air of empowerment for our youth. This story is a very important reminder for everyone who in the midst of all luxuries and comforts of this world, should still be focused on finding the truth, promoting it and being ready to sacrifice the luxuries and comforts of this life to promote, protect and practice their faith.

In this session we will seek to examine how we can shed the weight from our hearts and unlock our spiritual potential.
